Summary
[编辑]Radar image of 飓风威尔玛 as it slowly drifted inland over the NE Yucatán Peninsula. At the time Wilma was a strong Category 4 hurricane with winds near 140 mph.
Notice the two rings of maximum signature. An onset of 眼墙置换 is evident here. The inner eye wall would be disrupted by land interaction but it regenerated over the "Loop Current" and the new eye would not clear until moments before landfalling on Florida. The second eye wall may explain why Wilma retained much of its strength despite land interaction (besides retaining 75% of its circulations over water).

[编辑]Okay, this is somewhat complicated to rationalise. While the image is indeed originally produced by the Mexican Weather Service (and the Mexican government does not release its works into the public domain), the fact that it has been released and distributed by the US 美国国家海洋和大气管理局 should allow us to use it here. The {{PD-USGov-NOAA}} is not entirely accurate but is the best I can find.
