布萊恩·霍爾頓-里德

布萊恩·霍爾頓-里德（英語：Brian Holden-Reid，1952年—），英國軍事史學家。

生涯

霍爾頓-里德曾就讀赫爾大學、薩塞克斯大學、倫敦大學，並曾在北倫敦理工學院（英语：University of North London）及倫敦大學城市學院任教，1982年，他加入了倫敦國王學院的戰爭研究系（英语：Department of War Studies, King's College London）^[1] ，於1987年成為助理教授，1992年成為副教授，並於2000年成為正教授，在2001至2007年間擔任戰爭研究系的系主任，2007年他獲得了倫敦國王學院院士（英语：King's College London#Fellowship_of_King's_College）的頭銜^[2]，這是該校給予其校友或職員的最高榮譽，他也在2010至2019年間擔任學院理事會的成員。

霍爾頓-里德也是皇家歷史學會（英语：Royal Historical Society）^[3]、英國皇家地理學會、皇家文藝學會及皇家聯合研究所的會員，1984~1987年他在白廳成為了RUSI期刊（英语：RUSI Journal）的編輯，負責編輯RUSI的刊物如防禦研究，1996年他成為了該期刊軍事史的顧問編輯，而後他成為了該期刊的編輯委員會及眾多其他期刊的成員。

1987至1997年，他成為了坎伯利參謀學院（英语：Staff College, Camberley）常駐歷史學家（Resident Historian），並成為了整個世紀以來第一位擔任指導參謀（Directing Staff）的平民，並協助設計了高階指揮參謀課程，用以選出上校及准將以進行更高層級的任命。他也被授予美國陸軍指揮參謀學院中高等軍事學院（英语：School of Advanced Military Studies）的榮譽學位。
