Obsidian是使用Markdown語法的閉源筆記軟件。[2][3]用戶可以在筆記間建立雙向鏈接，並且可以探索這些筆記連接形成的關係圖譜。該軟件旨在幫助用戶以一種靈活的、非線性的方式來組織和構架他們的想法和知識。Obsidian對個人使用免費，商業使用則需購買許可。
Obsidian是由Shida Li和徐子殷於2019冠狀病毒病疫情隔離期間所編寫的。[4]兩人在滑鐵盧大學學習時相識，彼時他們已經在幾個開發項目上進行了合作。[5]
Obsidian的第一個版本於2020年3月30日發布。[6]1.0.0版本於2022年10月發布。[7][8]1.1版於2022年12月發布，增加了Canvas核心插件。[9]
Obsidian基於Electron構建。它是一款跨平台應用程序，可在Windows、Linux、macOS以及移動操作系統（如Android和iOS）上運行，不過沒有提供基於網頁的版本。Obsidian可以通過添加插件進行定製，移動應用程序也可使用這些插件。
功能
[編輯]Obsidian 主體在個人使用時是免費的。而端到端加密同步、發布頁面等額外功能則須以月費制度購買。[10]
