10)是一种矿物质混合物,主要成分为硬锰矿组[2],大多数硬锰矿组不是纯矿,钡硬锰矿是有价的锰矿石,用于炼钢和钠电池生产[3]。属单斜晶系结构,硬度6,比重4.7-5。钡硬锰矿是由氧化锰八面体形成的结构[4]。
钡硬锰矿与赤铁矿、重晶石、软锰矿、石英等锰氧化物矿物伴生。产地包括中国大陆[5]、法国、德国、英国、巴西、印度和美国的亚利桑那州、弗吉尼亚州、田纳西州和密歇根州,以及整个阿巴拉契亚山脉[6]。
