白血球介素-6

白血球介素-6(Interleukin 6),簡稱白介素-6(IL-6,在人體內由IL6基因編碼[5]),最初由日本免疫學家岸本忠三團隊發現[6],是一種介導發炎的白血球介素(但在某些情況下也具有抗發炎症作用)[7][5]。白血球介素-6可由T細胞、B細胞、單核球、纖維母細胞、角質形成細胞、內皮細胞、繫膜細胞,以及一部分腫瘤細胞分泌[8]。
白血球介素-6最初被認為是一種能促進B細胞分化為漿細胞的因子,後來陸續發現有其他功能[9]。 例如,白血球介素-6能夠穿過血腦屏障[10],與中樞神經系統的正常生理過程與損傷修復過程都有關聯[9]。
