4-羥基苯乙醛又稱對羥基苯乙醛,是分子式為HOC6H4CH2CHO的天然產物,它在室溫為白色固體,是苯乙醛的衍生物[1]。它在人體內由單胺氧化酶(MAO)代謝酪胺形成或大腸桿菌內的酪胺氧化酶產生。
4-羥基苯乙醛和多巴胺的縮合反應是生物合成苄基異喹啉生物鹼的關鍵一步,包括小檗鹼和嗎啡等天然產物。[2]
